TEF/TEFAQ Canada Test
TEF/TEFAQ
Edu-inter has been an assessment center approved and mandated by La Chambre de commerce et de l’industrie de Paris ïle-de-France (CCIP) since 2016 and we offer the TEF Canada and the TEFAQ. All exams take place in person at our school located in Quebec City.
TEF Canada
The TEF Canada is the test used when applying for Canadian citizenship or during certain applications for permanent residence.
Available Skills
- Oral comprehension: 40 minutes-60 questions (mandatory)
- Oral expression: 20-30 minutes-2 subjects (mandatory)
- Written comprehension: 60 minutes-50 questions (elective)
- Written expression: 60 minutes-2 subjects (elective)
TEFAQ
The TEFAQ is used to obtain the QSC (Quebec Selection Certificate) to subsequently apply for your permanent residence.

- Written comprehension: 60 minutes-50 questions (elective)
- Written expression: 60 minutes-2 subjects (elective)
It is not the responsibility of Edu-inter to know which of the two tests you are asked to take.
You must communicate directly with the CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) and/or the MIFI (Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration) so that they can tell you which test and which exams you must take and register for.

General Policies
Policies, Absence and Cancellations
Policy
To confirm your registration, online payment by credit card is required at the time of registration.
Once your payment has been received, you will receive an official registration confirmation, no later than 3 working days from your online registration.
Please note: A non-refundable administrative fee of $50 applies upon registration.
Cancellation fees are $120 if it is one or 2 tests, and $160 for 3 or 4 tests (see cancellation conditions).
- Make sure you sign up for the right test and exams. It is your responsibility to contact the authorities where you must submit the test results in order to know the test and the tests you must take.
- Each test can be taken individually.
- There is a waiting period of 30 days between two registrations for the same test, regardless of the center where you take the first and second test. The Paris CCI will automatically cancel your exam if you do not meet this deadline.
- The minimum age is 16 years old.

Correction and certification of results
Please note that the Paris CCI now sends the results certificates directly to the candidate by email in PDF format.
These digital certificates are official and accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and by the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration of Quebec (MIFI).
- The usual time frame varies between one and three weeks.
- Edu-inter has no power to accelerate the correction and there is no way – free or paid – to accelerate the correction with the CCI of Paris.
- The certificate of results is valid for two (2) years.
