About our basic French & Cooking Camp

Take French classes in the morning and in the afternoon, put your French and culinary skills to test as you prepare pudding chômeur, poutine or tarte au sucre d’érable (maple sugar pie).

This program is perfect for those who want a true language and culinary experience in Quebec City.

Daily Schedule (Monday to Friday)

8:30 am – Arrive at Collège Mérici

8:30 am – 11:45 am – French Class

11:45 am – 1:00 pm – Lunch

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Cooking Workshop

4:30 pm – Transport to accommodation Evenings

Activities in residence / Time with host family

Requirements

10-17 years of age at the start of the program

Foreign students must meet Canadian visa requirements and have travel and health insurance for the duration of the program

Location and Facilities

The program is offered in beautiful Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the only major city in Canada that offers a 100% French-speaking environment. As the cradle of francophone culture in the Americas, Quebec City offers an unparalleled opportunity for French immersion.

The program is offered in a professional cooking center with certified chefs. All material is provided during the camp.

Details

The Summer French and Cooking program includes 15 hours of language classes and 15 hours of Quebec cooking workshops per week. Spend your mornings in class developing your reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills in French, and your afternoons diving into the gastronomical delights of Quebec cuisine. The cooking workshops are in a professional cooking center and are taught by certified professional chefs.

Either the homestay or residence option offer our students a complete immersion experience in Quebec City. Our “French only” policy ensure all students speak French at all time.
