Total Immersion in Quebec City

These programs are available all year round. The duration of the programs varies from 1 to 52 weeks and students can start on any Monday of the year.

All the French courses consist of 7-levels, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students develop all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, in addition to attention to the study of grammar and phonetics. There is an average of 7 to 9 students per class so the teacher can give a special attention to each student.

Description

This program provides students with 15 hours of French classes per week in the morning. French classes cover listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, in addition to grammar and phonetics. In the afternoon, students have free time to discover Quebec City and its cultural, historical and gastronomic attractions.

Students might complete their French classes with conversation workshops. Conversation workshops cover themes such as typical day-to-day situations or themes related to culture, current events, literature, cinema or music. Conversation workshops give students the opportunity to further develop oral fluency.

Description

The Super-Intensive French program is a 27.5-hour per week language course (30 hours per week during the summer session) that follows international standards and focuses on developing reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in French for students of all levels and abilities.

Spend your mornings taking comprehensive French classes, and in the afternoon, develop your oral fluency through conversation workshops discussing themes related to culture, current events, literature, cinema or music. The additional semiprivate classes are a very effective complement to the program for students who need immediate results in a short period of time. These classes are adaptable to the student’s needs and interests, and can cover topics related to business and workplace French.

The Learn French and Volunteering program is a great opportunity to learn and practice French while serving the local community. By combining French classes with a volunteering project and accommodation with a host family, students live a true immersion experience.

Volunteering

The volunteering projects are varied and offer a fantastic complement for short to medium-term study periods. It is the perfect option for students who are looking for meaningful engagement with the community and for learning and practicing French in an entirely authentic environment. The objective of the volunteering component is to become involved in a project that will help you develop your linguistic skills. Requirements Before the volunteering portion begins, students need to have completed level A2.

The Learn French and Work program is an effective French immersion program that allows students to achieve a high level of fluency in French, to gain valuable work experience in a French-speaking environment and to earn money to subsidize their stay in Quebec City.

The program is divided in two components: the French courses and a work experience.

Please note that the French & Work Experience program is only offered to Canadian citizens and to holders of a Working Holiday Visa.

Description

With the French and Music program, adult students complete their French courses with music lessons offered at the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec.

French Courses

French courses give participants a foundation in French that will allow them to function in a French-speaking environment. The French courses follow international standards. Music Classes are available for most of the instruments and include private teaching, group classes and supervised practice.

Requirements

Students are required to bring their own musical instrument, if possible.

The Exam Preparation for DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF Canada, TFI, Bright Language et TEFaQ increases the student’s chances to succeed in internationally recognized French exams.

About our school

 

Edu-inter is a French immersion school accredited by Languages Canada and with a 16-year experience in teaching French to local and foreign students.

Open all year round, we offer different French programs for adults and teenagers from all over the world. Over 2000 students from 43 different countries benefit from our wide range of programs each year.

Our French programs are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; consequently they coincide with programs offered by the Alliance Française and prepare students for examinations recognized around the world, such as the DELF, DALF, TEFaQ, TEF, BRIGHT and TCF.

We offer 7 levels of French courses, from complete beginner to advanced, in reduced class settings with an average of 5 to 12 students (9 to 15 during the summer program) in order to facilitate personalized instruction.
