Academic Year in French Program in Quebec City

Our Academic Year High School French Immersion Program for teenagers offers a complete linguistic and French-Canadian culture immersion by integrating into a secondary school, living with a French-Canadian family and participating in cultural activities and excursions. The Academic Year in French program is offered in collaboration with one of the best private high school in Quebec City.

Host Families

In addition to attending high school in French, students live with host families, on a full board basis. They share the day-to-day life, including leisure and outings. Host families are local French-speaking families, screened and selected to ensure an optimal cultural experience.

In addition to screening host families, Edu-Inter offers support 24/7, as well as monthly reports to inform parents of their children’s social and academic progress.

Summer Bridge Program

The summer bridge program helps to prepare students for the academic year, by reinforcing their French and by introducing them to life in Quebec. This program consists of 15 hours of French classes per week and also includes week-end excursions, weekday activities in the afternoon and 1 weeknight activity designed to help the participant learn about Quebec’s history and its culture. This program is mandatory for any student who hasn’t reach the intermediate level (A2 based on the CECRL*) and is highly recommended for all other students.

French as a Second Language and Academic Support

The students who haven’t reached the A2 level of expertise at the beginning of the Academic Year receive additional French as Second Language (FSL) lessons as well as academic assistance. Helping the student to integrate and to succeed in their Academic program is the main priority of the Academic assistance staff. The student will receive 4 hours of FSL and Academic assistance per week.

Activities and Excursions

Students participate in one organized cultural activity every month. The specific activities and excursions are in accordance to Edu-Inter’s program.
