Total French Immersion in a Local High School

August to June

Edu-inter offers an unforgettable French high school experience in Quebec city, one the safest cities in Canada. Studying with local teenagers and living with French-Canadian families, your teen will live a true and complete French and cultural immersion experience.

Our High School programs are offered in collaboration with the best private high schools in the Quebec area.

Host Families

In addition to attending high school in French, students live with host families, on a full board basis. They share the day-to-day life, including leisure and outings. Host families are local French-speaking families, screened and selected to ensure an optimal cultural experience.

In addition to screening host families, Edu-Inter offers support 24/7, as well as reports to inform parents of their children’s social and academic progress.

Summer Bridge Program

The summer bridge program helps to prepare students for the academic year, by reinforcing their French and by introducing them to life in Quebec. This program consists of 15 hours of French classes per week and also includes week-end excursions, weekday activities in the afternoon and 1 weeknight activity designed to help the participant learn about Quebec’s history and its culture.

This program is mandatory for any student who hasn’t reach the intermediate level (A2 based on the CECRL*) and is highly recommended for all other students.

The Academic Year in French offers a complete immersion in French- Canadian culture and language as well as the opportunity to attain an advanced level of French. This program will also prepare the participant to function successfully in French language post-secondary academic institutions in Quebec.

Participants are assigned to a local educational institution, and hosted by a local francophone family.

French and Activities

Academic Support

The students who haven’t reached the A2 level of expertise at the beginning of the Academic Year receive additional French as Second Language (FSL) lessons as well as academic assistance.

Helping the student to integrate and to succeed in their Academic program is the main priority of the Academic assistance staff. The student will receive between 2 to 4 hours of FSL and Academic assistance per week.

Activities and Excursions Students participate in one organized cultural activity every two months. The specific activities and excursions are in accordance to Edu-inter’s program.

The High School Experience in French program is an effective French Immersion Program that provides participants with a complete immersion experience in French-Canadian culture along with the opportunity to attain a high level of French fluency.

This program has a duration of 4 (End of August to December) or 6 months (August to February or January to June).

French and Activities

Our High School Experience in French program for teenagers offers a complete linguistic and French-Canadian culture immersion by integrating into a secondary school program, living with a French-Canadian family and participating in cultural activities and excursions.

During 3 to 6 months, participants are completely integrated into school life, participating in academic classes, extracurricular activities and other school events with local students.

French as a Second Language

Classes Students attend an additional 4 hours of FSL instruction every week during the 1st 10 weeks of the program.

Activities and Excursions

Students participate in one organized cultural activity every 2 months. The specific activities and excursions are in accordance to Edu-inter’s program.

This program has a duration of 1 to 6 weeks.

French and Activities

Designed to complement academic French programs, French for School Groups is an unparalleled French Immersion for students.

The program can become an integral component of any high school French program looking to reinforce French learning in an authentic context, and to offer a superb incentive for students in learning French.

The program introduces students to the linguistic, social, cultural and academic context of life in Quebec. In exchange, participants are expected to present elements of their school life, family life and culture to the local students, all in French!

This program has a duration of 2 to 6 weeks and accepts groups of students between the ages of 13 and 17.

Students receive French classes in a local high school, interact with local students, reside with a French-Canadian family and participate in a number of cultural activities and excursions.

This program is customizable. Groups can split their days by integrating a High School in the mornings and having an activities package (cultural and recreational) every afternoon.

About our school

Edu-inter is a French immersion school accredited by Languages Canada and with a 16-year experience in teaching French to local and foreign students.

Open all year round, we offer different French programs for adults and teenagers from all over the world. Over 2000 students from 43 different countries benefit from our wide range of programs each year.

Our French programs are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; consequently they coincide with programs offered by the Alliance Française and prepare students for examinations recognized around the world, such as the DELF, DALF, TEFaQ, TEF, BRIGHT and TCF.

We offer 7 levels of French courses, from complete beginner to advanced, in reduced class settings with an average of 5 to 12 students (9 to 15 during the summer program) in order to facilitate personalized instruction.
