About Super-Intensive Basic French Learning

Do you need to attain a high level of fluency in basic French in a short period of time? This full-time, super-intensive French immersion program will help you achieve your language goals through daily classes, conversation workshops, and semi-private instruction.

This program is perfect for those who want to improve their overall French language skills.

Program Features

15 hours of Standard French classes per week
7.5 hours of French conversation workshops per week (10 hours per week during summer session)
5 hours of semi-private instruction per week
7 levels of basic instruction from beginner to advanced, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
Flexible start dates and program duration
Our classrooms have between 5 to 15 students
Optional activities every afternoon and excursions on weekends
Homestay, residence or furnished apartment accommodation options

Daily Schedule (Monday to Friday)

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm Conversation Workshop

Requirements

Minimum 16 years of age at the start of the program
Foreign students must meet Canadian visa requirements
Foreign students must have travel and health insurance for the duration of the program

You can start on any Monday of the year! *

* If a holiday falls on a Monday, the course will start on the Tuesday.

I attended Edu-Inter’s Super-Intensive French program for 17 weeks. I started at level 3 (A1.1) and finished in level 7 (B2.2). I had only taken one semester of French before arrival. The Super-Intensive French program is offered in beautiful Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the only major city in Canada that offers a 100% French-speaking environment. As the cradle of francophone culture in the Americas, Quebec City offers an unparalleled opportunity for French immersion.

The school is centrally located on the Collège Mérici campus in downtown Quebec City, close to major tourist and cultural attractions. On-site facilities include a gymnasium, aerobics room, library, computer labs, an internet cafe, cafeteria, a student lounge and ample green spaces.

Details

The Super-Intensive French program is a 27.5-hour per week language course (30h per week during the summer session) that follows international standards and focuses on developing reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in French for students of all basic levels and abilities.

The content of this course will help you prepare for recognized exams such as the TEF, TEFAQ, DELF, DALF, et TCF. Spend your mornings taking comprehensive French learning classes, and in the afternoon, develop your oral fluency through conversation workshops discussing themes related to culture, current events, literature, cinema or music. The additional semi-private classes are a very effective complement to the program for students who need immediate results in a short period of time. These classes are adaptable to the student’s needs and interests, and can cover topics related to business and workplace French.

The homestay option is highly encouraged since it allows you to live with a French-speaking family for a complete language and cultural immersion experience in Quebec City!
