What is it?
The TEF and TEFAQ are two French proficiency exams officially recognized by Immigration Canada and the Department of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion in Quebec (MIDI). TEF Canada is the test used in an application for Canadian citizenship when you are already in possession of permanent residence; the TEFAQ is used for obtaining the CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate) to request your permanent residence.
Important: It is not the responsibility of Edu-inter to know which test you must pass. You must contact the CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) and / or MIDI (Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion) to know which test you must register. You must consult the above web links.
The choice of 4 tests
2 tests are required:
- Oral expression (450 points – 15 minutes)
- Listening comprehension (60 questions, 360 points – 40 minutes)
2 tests are optional:
- Written expression (60 minutes)
- Reading Comprehension (60 minutes)
Important: the student is responsible to know for how many tests he wants to register. This is not the responsibility of Edu-inter.
A minimum level of B2 is required for obtaining points according to the following table:
Registration and payment must be made up to 2 weeks before your exam by contacting the Center at (581) 748-2382. After this date, no registration will be taken into account.
Please email the completed signed and scanned PDF form to : firstname.lastname@example.org . Afterward, the accounting will contact you by email to explain the payment methods.

Please note that test results and certificates will be sent six weeks after the date of the examination.
